RESOLUTION NO. 09 -296 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATION (USED OIL <br /> RECYCLING BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION) TO THE CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED <br /> WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD <br /> WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Oil <br /> Recycling Enhancement Act that provides funds to cities and counties for establishing and <br /> maintaining local used oil collection programs that encourage recycling or appropriate disposal <br /> of used oil; and <br /> WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the <br /> responsibility for the administration of the program within the state; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton will enter into an agreement with the State of <br /> California for implementation of a used oil collection program; and <br /> WHEREAS, that submission of an ongoing waste oil block grant application to educate <br /> and assist residents in the proper disposal of waste oil and filters will continue; and <br /> WHEREAS, that the Used Oil Recycling Block Grant Program is funded by oil <br /> consumers in California and is administered by the California Integrated Waste Management <br /> Board and the Used Oil Grant will be managed by the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, that on June 2, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pleasanton Council Chambers, 200 <br /> Old Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton, the City Council considered the application for the above waste <br /> oil block grant <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council authorizes the submittal of an application to the <br /> California Integrated Waste Management Board for a 2009/2010 Used Oil Recycling Block <br /> Grant <br /> SECTION 2. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute all necessary <br /> applications, contracts, payment requests, agreements and amendments for the purposes of <br /> securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant <br /> application. <br /> SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on June 2, 2009. <br /> I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br /> resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 2 day of June, <br /> 2009, by the following vote: <br />
