CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 02-005 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />GRANT FUNDS FOR THE RIPARIAN AND RIVERINE <br />HABITAT PROGRAM UNDER THE SAFE <br />NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS, CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, <br />AND COASTAL PROTECTION BOND ACT OF 2000 FOR <br />THE HAPPY VALLEY GOLF COURSE AND OPEN SPACE <br />PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the people of the State of California have enacted the Riparian and Riverine <br />Habitat Program, which provides funds to the State of California for grants to local <br />agencies and federally recognized California Indian tribes to increase public <br />recreational access, awareness, understanding, enjoyment, and protection of <br />California's irreplaceable rivers and streams; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the <br />responsibility for the administration of the Program and the grant Project shown <br />above with the State, setting up necessary procedures; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and Recreation <br />require the Applicant's governing body to certify by resolution the approval of the <br />application before submission of said application to the State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Applicant will enter into a contract with the State of California for the Project; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Approves the filing of an application for local assistance funds from the Riparian <br />and Riverine Habitat Program under the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, <br />Clean Air, and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2000. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />Certifies that the Applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate and <br />maintain the Project. <br /> <br /> <br />
