CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 02-011 RESOLUTION APPROVING A MITIGATED NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR THE BERNAL AVENUE BRIDGE IMPROVEMENTS OVER THE ARROYO DE LA LAGUNA AND DESIGN MODIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE BERNAL AVENUE BRIDGE WHEREAS, at its meeting of January 15, 2002, the City Council received a proposed mitigated negative declaration for the modifications to the Bemal Avenue Bridge over the Arroyo de la Laguna; and WHEREAS, the City Council has received and reviewed the Initial Study dated November 12, 2001, and received the recommendations of the staff; and WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time the public was given the opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposed bridge construction; and WHEREAS, the City Couincil has reviewed the potential impacts in accordance with the applicable state and local guidelines governing the preparation of Mitigated Negative Declarations and Environmental Impact Repons; and WHEREAS, the Ctiy Council finds that based upon the review of the Initial Study, and the testimony and documentary evidence presented at the public heating that there may be significant impacts on the environment, but that the City will provide mitigation measures to render these potential impacts insignificant; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Section 2: Approves a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Bemal Avenue Bridge improvements at the Arroyo de la Laguna. Approves the proposed modifications to the bridge design incorporating a pedestrian walkway cantilevered from the northern edge of the existing bridge on Bernal Avenue, crossing the Arroyo de la Laguna.
