CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 01-121 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE <br />APPLIED BIOSYSTEMS FOR <br />DEVELOPMENT PLAN APPROVAL <br />CASE PUD-16 <br /> <br />APPLICATION OF <br />PLANNED UNIT <br />AS FILED UNDER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Applied Biosystems has applied for Planned Unit Development plan approval to <br />construct a 960,000 square foot office and research campus to be located on an <br />approximately 80 acre parcel; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - I (Industrial) <br /> District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its duly noticed meeting of October 24, 2001, the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning this application and approved the proposed grading and tree <br />removal plans but continued action on the remainder of the project to allow the <br />applicants to look at alternatives to reduce the three-story building and mechanical <br />equipment screen heights; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, within the time specified by the Municipal Code, a neighbor appealed the Planning <br /> Commission's grading and tree removal approvals to the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a duly noticed Planning Commission public heating was held on November 14, <br />2001, where the Planning Commission reviewed the applicants' alternatives to <br />reduce building height, considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and <br />recommendations of the City staff concerning this application and approved <br />PUD-16, subject to 109 conditions of approval; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />a duly noticed City Council public hearing was held on December 4, 2001, where <br />the City Council reviewed the entire development plan for the project, including <br />those items that were appealed, considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, <br />and recommendations of the City staff concerning this application; and <br /> <br /> <br />
