IT¥ OF PL e <br /> <br /> S?ATF_ O? <br /> <br />URGT~G T.OCATION OF A'I'O~IC ENERGY COI~',IISSTOR <br />PROTON ACCELERATOR AT C,M~ PAR~S~ P'I'-EASANTOR~ <br />CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Atomic Energy Commission of the United States of <br />America is inquiring into the feasibility of locating a large <br />proton accelerator for scientific study; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal Government owns a large number of acres <br />at Camp Parks, Pleasanton Township, Alameda County! California, <br />located just northerly of the City limits of the City of Pleasanto~ <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Camp Park site for the proposed proton accelera- <br />tor would offer todays scientists and future generations of <br />American scientists an ideal location as to climate, nearby <br />educational and research facilities, proximity to large population <br />centers, available utilities, and budget limitations; and <br /> <br /> NOW, T~EREFORE, the City Council of PleaSanton does resolve <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby <br /> strongly and vigorously urge the Atomic Energy Commission, the <br /> various congressional co,~,ittees of the Senate and the House of <br /> Representatives of the United States to consider favorably, and <br /> to locate the proposed proton accelerator at Camp Parks, Pleasanto <br /> Township, Alameda County, California. <br /> <br /> 2. The City officers are hereby instructed to provide <br /> assistance, help and cooperation as may be desired by the Federal <br /> and State officers investigating the Camp Parks location. <br /> <br /> 3.
