CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />SUPPORTING A FEDERAL CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT <br />TO PERMIT STATES TO BALANCE THEIR LEGISLATIVE <br />REPRESENTATION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the United States Supreme Court has recently <br />decided that legislative apportionment of all state legislatures <br />must be on a population basis; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, historically the apportionment of state <br />legislatures has been a matter decided by the people residing <br />in each particular state; <br /> <br /> NO~, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does <br />hereby support an amendment to the United States Constitution <br /> <br />which would permit states <br />representation on a basis <br />so desire. <br /> <br />to balance their legislative <br /> <br />other than population, if the states <br /> <br /> 2.
