CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1574 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18,100,030 and <br /> 18,100,040 OF THE pT~ASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> CONCERNING RELIGIOUS HOLIDAY BANNERS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASEON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 18,100.030 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 18,100,030 Definitions <br /> <br /> Unless it appears from the context that a different <br /> meaning is intended, the following words shall have the <br /> meanings given to them in this chapter: <br /> <br /> (Subsection A, no change.) <br /> <br /> B. 'Community event sign' means any signs, banners, <br /> or displays of a patriotic, civic or community nature." <br /> <br /> (Subsections C - G, no change.) <br /> <br /> H. 'Religious Holiday Banner' means any banner <br /> announcing a special religious holiday service for a <br /> religious group belonging to any religious institution." <br /> <br /> Section 2: Section 18.100,040 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br /> ,,Section 18,100,040 Posting of political campaign <br /> signs, community event signs, <br /> and religious holiday banners - <br /> Private property <br /> <br /> (Subsections A and B - no change.) <br /> <br /> C. Maximum Size, Number and Duration of Religious <br /> Holiday Banners. No person shall post or cause to be <br /> posted on private property on sites exceeding ten <br /> thousand square feet in any zoning district religious <br /> holiday baners in excess of thirty-six square feet. No <br /> person shall post or cause to be posted on private <br /> property on sites ten thousand square feet or less in any <br /> zoning district, religious holiday banners in excess of <br /> six square feet. There shall be no more than one banner <br /> posted on the site of any religious institution during a <br /> <br /> <br />
