Any aggrieved person who prevails in such an action shall be entitled to <br /> recover from the violator those damages, costs, attorney's fees and such <br /> other relief as determined by the court. In addition to all other damages <br /> or relief, the court may award to the aggrieved person a civil penalty of <br /> up to One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) for each violation of this <br /> Chapter. <br /> <br /> C. The remedies provided by this Chapter are in addition to any other legal <br /> or equitable remedies the aggrieved person may have and are not intended <br /> to be exclusive·" <br /> <br /> ~: This ordinance is an urgency measure necessary to protect the public health, <br /> safety and welfare and shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. The <br /> facts constituting such urgency are that: (i) there curren~y is no law protecting <br /> a person's right to privacy in the home and the right to enjoy tranquility and a <br /> sense of security in one's neighborhood, against targeted residential picketing <br /> activity that unreasonably interferes with such rights, and (ii) them are Pleasanton <br /> residents who are fearful, intimidated and insecure because they have been <br /> subjected to targeted picketing activity at their homes and in their neighborhood <br /> and because they reasonably expect such activity to occur in the future. <br /> <br /> S_~jg._L~: A summary of this ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days <br /> after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation <br /> published in the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted <br /> for fifteen (15) days in the City Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its <br /> adoption. <br /> <br /> INTRODUCED and ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br /> Pleasanton on January 18, 1994. <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Mohr, Scribner, and Mayor Tarver <br /> NOES: Councilmember Pico <br /> ABSENT: None ~ <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> , <br /> <br />PeggY/gti&o, Clerk <br /> <br /> Michael H.
