Ordinance No. 1600 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br /> visible to the public shall be architecturally <br /> treated and/or screened from view utilizing on- <br /> and/or off-site vegetation or other approved <br /> screening mechanism. <br /> <br /> D. Wire-carrying power distribution poles and <br /> transmission towers and communication poles located <br /> in any zoning district shall not be subject to the <br /> height limits prescribed in the district <br /> regulations. <br /> <br />Section 3: Section 18.112.020 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "18.112.020 Nonresidential District Standards <br /> <br /> No exterior satellite earth station or microwave dish <br /> having a dimension greater than two feet in diameter <br /> shall be allowed in any nonresidential district unless it <br /> complies with the requirements of this section. For the <br /> purposes of this section, "satellite earth station" means <br /> a parabolic dish antenna designed for the transmission <br /> and/or receiving of signals from a satellite and used for <br /> enhanced radio, television reception and/or <br /> telecommunication uses; "microwave dish" means a <br /> parabolic dish or open antenna designed for the <br /> transmission and/or receiving of microwave signals for <br /> enhanced telecommunication uses. <br /> <br /> A. Design review approval per Chapter 18.20 of this <br /> title is required for any proposed satellite earth <br /> station or microwave dish greater than two feet in <br /> diameter. <br /> <br /> B. All satellite earth stations and microwave dish <br /> antennas shall be located on the roof of a <br /> structure whenever possible, providing the antenna <br /> or dish is not visible from public roadways or can <br /> be adequately screened from view of a public <br /> roadway. All satellite earth stations and <br /> microwave dish antennas that cannot be installed on <br /> the roof in a manner that is not visible to a <br /> public roadway shall be located directly adjacent <br /> to an existing building, whenever possible. <br /> <br /> C. Any satellite earth station or microwave dish <br /> proposal that is visible from any public roadway or <br /> other public place shall include a written <br /> statement explaining the exact need of the <br /> satellite earth station or microwave dish.
