EXHIBIT <br /> <br />18.74.250 Temporary Main Street Construction Signs <br /> <br /> A. The following types of signs are permitted for all Main <br />Street businesses during the Main Street Reconstruction project. <br />For purposes of this section, Main Street businesses are those <br />located on lots which have direct vehicular or pedestrian access <br />onto Main Street. <br /> <br /> 1. Banners. Banners advertising special promotions or sales <br /> are allowed on the front or back of buildings and <br /> business identification banners are allowed only on the <br /> back of buildings. Banners shall not exceed two feet in <br /> width and shall not extend for more than eighty per cent <br /> of the width of the business storefront. No more than <br /> two such banners are allowed for each business: one on <br /> the front and one on the back of a building. <br /> <br /> 2. Temporary Freestanding Signs. Temporary freestanding <br /> signs may be erected within a landscaped area or parking <br /> lot behind or next to a building. Such signs shall be <br /> limited to business identification or directional signs, <br /> shall be non-illuminated or indirectly illuminated, and <br /> shall not exceed four feet in height above the ground. <br /> <br /> 3. A-Frame Signs. A-frame signs are allowed only on newly <br /> constsructed public sidewalks for business identification <br /> and/or to advertise special events or sales, but not to <br /> advertise a special product or service. One A-frame sign <br /> per business is allowed limited to a vertical dimension <br /> of thirty-six inches, a horizontal dimension of twenty- <br /> four inches, and a total height of forty-eight inches <br /> above the ground. Such signs shall be located no closer <br /> than twenty feet from a side street curb and two feet <br /> from the Main Street curb. <br /> <br /> 4. Window Signs. Window signs of a temporary nature, such <br /> as those painted directly onto a window or on paper, are <br /> allowed for more than thirty days and may not cover more <br /> than thirty-five percent of the total window area of a <br /> business. <br /> <br /> 5. Decorations. Decorations such as flags, pennants, <br /> streamers, and small balloons may be used at the front or <br /> back of a business. Large hot/cold air balloons are <br /> allowed in accordance with the provisions of Section <br /> 18.96.060 K of this title or as otherwise endorsed by the <br /> City council. <br /> <br /> B. No design review approval or fee is required for signs <br /> permitted under this section, provided that the signs strictly <br /> adhere to the standards in subsection 18.74,250 A. No sign or <br /> decoration shall be erected or maintained in a manner which is <br /> unsightly or unsafe or which blocks visibility of another business <br /> sign or storefront window. <br /> <br /> C. This ordinance shall expire when work on the Main Street <br /> <br /> <br />
