Ordinance No. 1734 <br />Page Thirteen <br /> <br />Division III Classification Of Materials <br /> <br />SEC 89.301 (a) General. Regulated materials shall be classified according to their Material <br /> Hazard Index CMHI") value. <br /> <br /> (b) Class I Regulated Materials. Of the materials regulated by this article, <br /> Class I materials pose the greatest potential hazard. A regulated material which <br /> has an MHI value equal to or greater than five hundred thousand (500,000) <br /> shall be classified as a Class I regulated material. <br /> <br /> c) Class II Regulated Materials. A regulated material which has an MHI equal <br /> to or greater than ten thousand (10,000) but less than five hundred thousand <br /> (500,000) shall be classified as a Class II regulated material. <br /> <br /> (d) Class III Regulated Materials. A regulated material which has an MHI <br /> equal to or greater than four thousand nine hundred (4,900) but less than ten <br /> thousand (10,000) shall be classified as a Class III regulated material. <br /> <br /> (e) Materials Not Exceeding Minimum Threshold Quantity CMin. T.Q."). <br /> Regulated materials which do not exceed the Min. T.Q. shall satisfy only the <br /> specific requirement established in section 89.401, and shall not otherwise be <br /> required to meet the requirements applicable to materials classified as Class I, <br /> II or III regulated materials. <br /> <br /> (f) Exempt Amounts <br /> <br /> (1) Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section, material which <br /> would otherwise be regulated is exempt from regulation under this <br /> regulation under this article if: <br /> <br /> [i] The material has an MHI less than 4,900; or <br /> <br /> [ii] The aggregate quantity of the material in a control area does <br /> not exceed the Min. T.Q., and the quantity of the material in a single <br /> vessel does not exceed 1 lb. <br /> <br /> (2) Not withstanding the exemption in subsection (1) above, no Class I <br /> materials, regardless of the amount thereof, is exempt from the provisions <br /> relating to "fire extinguishing systems", set forth in subsection 89.201 (p). <br /> <br /> <br />
