CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1765 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PLEASANTON <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADD A NEW CHAPTER 3.26 <br /> ESTABLISHING A TRAFFIC DEVELOPMENT FEE <br /> FOR RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL, OFFICE AND <br /> INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the continuing residential, commercial, office and industrial development in <br /> the City of Pleasanton is creating increasing demands upon the City's <br /> transportation infrastructure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, to maintain acceptable levels of service, the City has reviewed its existing <br /> and future need for transportation improvements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, new development is asked to contribute to the funding of such <br /> improvements to ameliorate the traffic impacts generated by new residents, <br /> businesses and their employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in September of 1997, staff undertook a study of the City's current and <br /> future traffic patterns and improvements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council held a workshop in March of 1998 to review the <br /> information regarding the Traffic Development Fee Study and to provide <br /> staff additional direction; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Fee Study has been presented to the City's Planning Commission, Parks <br /> and Recreation Commission, and Economic Vitality Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, informational workshops regarding the Fee Study have also been provided <br /> to the community, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown <br /> Association; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, information and comments raised by residents, businesses, and City <br /> officials have been incorporated into the proposed Traffic Development <br /> Fee; and <br /> <br /> <br />
