With the exception of developers/general contractors, the applicant shall <br /> estimate the gross receipts for the period to be covered by the license to be <br /> issued. As to an applicant who is a developer/general contractor, the <br /> applicant shall include an estimated sales price of each property for sale <br /> during the period to be covered by the license to be issued. As to a general <br /> contractor hired by an owner-builder, the applicant shall include an <br /> estimated value of the project. Such estimates, if accepted by the Collector <br /> as reasonable, shall be used in determining the amount of license to be paid <br /> by the applicant. In the event that the Collector finds the estimate submitted <br /> by the applicant to be unreasonable, the Collector shall notify the applicant <br /> thereof in writing. Within thirty days following receipt of such written <br /> notification, the applicant shall furnish the collector with a ~vritten <br /> verification by a certified public accountant as to the range of gross receipts <br /> during the period of such license, and the license tax for such period shall <br /> be finally ascertained and paid in the manner provided by this title for the <br /> ascertaining and paying of renewal license taxes for other businesses, after <br /> deducting from the payment found to be due, the amount paid at the time <br /> such first license was issued. <br /> <br /> 5.08.030 - 5.08.110, no changes. <br /> <br /> Chapter 5.12 License and Tax Payment <br /> <br /> 5.12.010 - 5.12.020, no changes. <br /> <br /> 5.12.030 Evidence of doing business. When any person shall, by Zhe use of <br /> signs, circulars, cards, telephone books, or newspapers, advertise, hold out, or <br /> represent that the person is conducting business in the City, or when any person <br /> holds an active license or permit issued by a govemmental agency indicating that <br /> the person is conducting business in the City, or when any person makes a sale, <br /> takes an order, delivers goods as a private carrier to any destination within the <br /> City, renders a commercial service or performs any other similar act within the <br /> City, and such person fails to deny by sworn statement given to the Collector that <br /> the person is not conducting business in the City, after being requested to do so by <br /> the Collector, then these facts shall be considered prima facie evidence that the <br /> person is conducting business in the City. <br /> <br /> Chapter 5.16 Constitutional Apportionment <br /> <br /> No changes. <br /> <br /> <br />
