PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Robert Cordtz, 262 West Angela, expressed concern with the traffic in this area. He stated he takes <br />exception to this whole exercise and stated the only solution to traffic issues is to reinstate school <br />bussing. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Maas, seconded by Commissioner Kameny, to adopt a <br />resolution finding that the Pleasanton Unified School District acquisition of 11.2-acres of property <br />for the purpose of constructing a new elementary school is consistent with the City's General plan. <br />The Commission noted it has strong concerns regarding traffic impacts that the location of the <br />school may impose. <br /> <br />ROLLCALLVOTE <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Cooper, Kameny, Maas, Roberts and Chairperson Kumaran <br />None <br />Commissioner Sullivan <br />None <br /> <br />Resolution No. PC-99-21 was entered and adopted as motioned. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas expressed concern with excessive traffic in the aftemoon at the conclusion of <br />school at the Meadowlark Dairy on Neal and Railroad. <br /> <br />Commissioner Maas initiated discussion relating to the unattractiveness of a sign at entrance of Mission <br />Drive and Sunol Boulevard and inquired who was responsible for maintenance of the sign. Staff <br />responded that they will examine issues relating to the sign. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cooper commented on whether the City has any ability to provide input as to the San <br />Francisco Water District's activities relating to wild pigs on the south side of Route 84. Staff responded <br />that the City has no jurisdiction to provide input on San Francisco Water District activities. <br />Commissioner Cooper requested that staff provide a response as to what the boundaries of the "sphere of <br />influence" are and whether the City would have an opportunity to comment on plans within the "sphere." <br /> <br />8. MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW <br /> <br />a.
