Mr. Plucker advised that the Hungry Hunter's lease is up and the property owner is attempting to <br />revitalize the area. He further advised that staff is finalizing the processing of a design review <br />application to upgrade and enhance the existing facility. <br /> <br />COMMENTS FROM THE APPLICANT <br /> <br />Randy Baugh, 4807 Clayton Road #125, Concord, represented the applicant. Mr. Baugh thanked <br />~ for their help and for pointing out the issues that needed to be addressed. He provided <br />history of the Elephant Bar Restaurant, noting existing locations. He advised that their number <br />one foous is on the food and the value. He noted that they provide an upscale al~nosphere in the <br />interior design of the building. He commented that only 2-3% of their sales is alcohol only. He <br />noted that surrounding uses include businesses that are open 24 hours, and that some nearby <br />restaurants have approval to sell alcohol as late as 2:00 a.m. on weekends. He advised that they <br />actively discourage the use of their restaurants as drinking establishments. <br /> <br />In response to a question from Chairperson Roberts as to how this site fits the restaurant's site <br />selection criteria, Mr. Baugh advised that the business park end the business community makes <br />up for the lower population within the five-mile radius. <br /> <br />Mr. B~gh noted that they anticipate construction to begin on January 1, 2001, with a <br />construction schedule of approximately 18 weeks. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />No one spoke to this itan~ <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Arkin, seconded by Commissioner Kameny, <br />~pprovtns Case PCUP-17, subject to the conditions of approval as shown in Exhibit "B.' <br /> <br />lltOLL CALL VOTE <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Arkin, Kameny, Maas, Roberts, and Sullivan <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />Resolution No. PC-2000-53 was ente~ and adopted as motioned. <br /> <br />PUD-al-30-S2D.
