PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-99-04 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF RED <br />BEAR, INC. FOR DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL, AS FILED UNDER CASE <br />Z-98-296 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Red Bear, Inc., has applied for design review approval to construct a 39-room <br /> hotel at 807 Main Street; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is Central Commercial (C-C), Downtown Revitalization, <br /> Core Area Overlay District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its meeting of January 27, 1999, the Planning Commission, after considering all <br />public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the City staff <br />concerning this proposal, recommended approval of the Negative Declaration <br />prepared for this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission determined that the proposed project conforms to the <br />purposes of the Downtown Revitalization District and can issue a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for demolition of the existing building; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Planning Commission determined that the proposed project is attractively <br />designed, is compatible with the traditional architectural character of Downtown, <br />will complement the Downtown commercial environment, and meets the <br />proposed criteria for three-story buildings in the Downtown. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. Recommends approval of Case Z-98-296, the application of Red Bear, Inc. for design <br /> review approval to construct a 39-room hotel at 807 Main Street, subject to Exhibit <br /> "B," attached hereto and made part of this case by reference. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
