CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 01-094 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE LOCAL AGENCY <br />FORMATION COMMISSION TO UNDERTAKE <br />PROCEEDINGS FOR THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION NO. <br />149 (STAPLES RANCH PHASE Il) PURSUANT TO THE <br />CORTESE-KNOX-HERTZBERG LOCAL GOVERNMENT <br />REORGANIZATION ACT OF 2000 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton desires to initiate proceedings pursuant to the <br />Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000, Division <br />3, commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for the <br />annexation of Annexation 149 (Staples Ranch Phase II), and requests initiation of <br />proceedings thereon; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited, and a map depicting the <br />boundaries of the temtory is set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and by this <br />reference incorporated herein; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence of the City of Pleasanton; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the reasons for this proposed annexation are as follows: <br /> <br />This is a logical extension of the City limits and the City of Pleasanton should <br />have control over the developmem of this property. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />The Local Agency Formation Commission of Alameda County is hereby requested <br />to undertake proceedings for the annexation of territory as described in Exhibit <br />"A", according to the terms and conditions stated above and in the manner <br />provided by the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act <br />of 2000. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
