Possible groundwater degradation through disturbance of existing wells <br />or percolation. <br /> <br />Measure C5a. Identify and remedy conditions at abandoned wells, if necessary. <br /> <br />Finding: Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the Project <br />which avoid or substantially lessen the significant environmental effect identified in <br />the Final EIR to a less than significant level. <br /> <br />Fac~ in Sun_ ~ort of Finding: The impact will be avoided or reduced based on the <br />following: <br /> <br /> a. The PUD (Condition ) requires geophysical surveys to locate any <br />abandoned or undiscovered wells and any pipe distribution systems remaining from <br />past municipal well rields within any areas directly affected by grading activity. If <br />prior abandonment of existing wells does not meet current standards, the developer <br />shall seal and destroy such wells in accordance with current standards. If additional <br />wells are discovered, they shall be removed or capped in place according to current <br />standards. <br /> <br /> b. Mitigation measures related to a golf course are not necessary because a golf <br /> course is not proposed as part of Phase I. In Phase II, ifa golf course is considered as <br /> one of the public uses, further environmental review will occur at that time. <br /> 6. Impact C6.
