PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-2000-06 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION DENYING THE APPLICATION OF KAISER ALUMrNUM AND <br />CHEMICAL CORPORATION, AS FILED UNDER CASE PUD-98-07 <br /> <br />Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation has applied for Planned Unit <br />Development (PUD) approval for a master plan and design guidelines that would <br />allow for the development of up to 1.1 million square feet of office/research and <br />development buildings to be located on an approximately 80-acre parcel located at <br />6177 Sunol Boulevard; and <br /> <br />WI-~REAS, zoning for the property is PUD-I (Planned Unit Development-Industrial) District; <br /> and; and <br /> <br />at its duly noticed public hearing of January 26, 1999 the Planning Commission, <br />after considering all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of <br />the City staff concerning this application, approved the Negative Declaration <br />prepared for this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that alternative land uses, including <br /> affordable housing, should be explored for this site. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COIVRvIISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Sectiog 1. <br /> <br />Denies the application of Kaiser Aluminum and Chemical Corporation for <br />Planned Unit Development (PUD) approval for a master plan and design <br />guidelines that would allow for the development of up to 1.1 million square feet <br />of office/research and development buildings to be located on an approximately <br />80-acre parcel located at 6177 Sunol Boulevard. <br /> <br />Secfiot$ 2. <br /> <br />Recommends that the City Council explore alternative land uses for a portion of <br />the site, including potential affordable housing, mixed-use development, and <br />traffic mitigation measures, and possibly in a workshop with the Housing <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective 15 days after its passage and adoption <br /> unless appealed prior to that time. <br /> <br /> <br />
