PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-2000-31 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT A STUDY OF RETAIL- <br />ONLY USES IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA BE INITIATED <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />in June 1999, the City Council appointed the Downtown Specific Plan Committee <br />to study issues relating to Downtown Pleasanton and to make recommendations to <br />be included in a new, updated Downtown Specific Plan; and <br /> <br />one of the Land Use Subcommittee's recommendations was that only retail <br />businesses should be allowed on the first floor on Main Street and that this <br />restriction should be considered for certain side streets as well; and <br /> <br />at its duly noticed public heating of May 24, 2000 the Planning Commission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning the referral to initiate a "Retail-Only" Ordinance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that a study of"retail-only" uses in the <br /> Downtown area is appropriate. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Sectioll 1. <br /> <br />Recommend to the City Council that a study regarding "retail-only" uses in the <br />Downtown area be initiated. <br /> <br />Seetiogt 2. <br /> <br />This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br />adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
