OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA API~OV~NG POLICy FOR NAMING PARK ~ RECREATION FACILITIES RESOLVED: The policy of the Ci[~ of Pleasanton for naming park and recreation facilities is as follows: I. Types of Parks and Rec~eation Facilities A. Major City Park(s),(in excess of 15 acres) B. Co--unity Parks (Tiacres to 15 acres) C. Neighborhood Parks (below 7 acres) D. Plazas (small beautification spots in varied places throughout the Cit~) E. Greenways (long narrow landscaped areas mostly along creed beds) F. Recreation Centers (structures or areas where specific types of recreation occurs) II. Temporary Designation The Recreation and Park Commission will designate a temporary name 6or all types of parks under the follow- ing conditions: (a) Following the Subdivision Committee's report of a prelimina~y map (b) At the request of the City Manager (c) At the request of the City Council or by the initiative of ~he Co~aission Temporary names would have a hyphen and a capital T following them and would be enclosed in parenthesis - Example: (Orloff Park - T). Temporary names would follow no special criteria and be for preliminary designation only. III. Permanent Park and Recreation Facility Naming A. Cr iter ia Ma'or3 City Park(s) - It is intended that theses parks will be ~amed for either persons, ~vent , or entities which are associated with ma3or historical value or exerted positive influence in the development of Pleasanton. Cozxaunity Parks - Same as above. Neighborhood Farks - First consideration will be given to naming these after the neighborhood in which they are located or a bordering street - 1-
