Cll'Y OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />Itl'SOLUTION NO, 66-128 <br /> <br />I:~OTES~rlNG ~STERN PACIFIC RAILI~OAD <br />COMPAI~Y ATT~NFf TO ABANDON THE ZEPHR <br />PASSENGER SF.I~VICE <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Western Pacific Company intends to file or <br />has filed application with State and Federal regulatory agencies <br />to abandon its passenger service facility; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said facilities include the Zephr, a passenger <br />train which stops daily at Pleasanton~ serving the eastern <br />Alameda County area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said passenger service is vital and necessary to <br />the traveling public; <br /> <br />NO~ t'l~~ ~ I~ R~OL~ED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby <br />protest the attempted abandonment by Western Pacific Company <br />of the Zephr passenger train. <br /> <br /> 2. The City Council does urge the Interstate Commerce <br />Co,~,ission and the Public Utilities Commission of the State of <br />California to deny application to terminate said service. <br /> <br /> 3.
