EXPRESSING <br /> APPRECIATION FOR SNR¥I~F~ TO <br /> COMP~NITY AS NE'~SPAPER EDITOR <br /> <br /> WItEREAM, the City Council desires to adjourn this meeting in <br />the memory of DANA NcGAUGH, who died at Livermore, California,, <br />this December 7, 1966; and <br /> <br /> W~E~AS, the City Council wants to express personally, and <br />for all people of the City of Pleasanton, their sorrow to his wife <br />and chil~ren, and their tardy thanks for the courageous work of <br />Dana McGaugh as reporter'and editor of The Independent; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFOBE~ BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council does express its concern and sympathy <br />to the wife and children of Dana McGaugh. <br /> <br /> 2. The City Council does acknowledge that Dana McGaugh, as <br />reporter and newspaper editor, has valiantly served the community <br />of the Amador-San Ramon-Livermore valley by his honest, persuasive <br />and sensitiv~ job of getting news to the people. <br /> <br /> 3. Thai:City C0qncil declares that the great mend of Dana <br />McGaugh madethe public's right to know a solid bridge be~een <br />the single ci~iZen~and his local government. <br /> <br /> 4.
