CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />67-45 <br /> <br />JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE CITIES OF LIVE~ AND <br />i~.F.A~ANTON OBPOSING THE DELETION OF FUNDS BY THE <br />BOARD OF DII~TORS OF ZONE NO. 7, ALAMEDA COblTI"f <br />FLOOD CONTROL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br /> TO FINANCE A VALLEY-WIDE SEWER STUDY <br /> <br />the Board of Directors of Zone No. 7, Alameda County <br />Flood Control and Water Conservation District met on <br />January 13, 1966, at the request of the Alameda County <br />Board of Supervisors to consider the feasibility and <br />desirability of undertaking the task of planning, <br />constructin§.~ and operating a valley-wide and centralized <br />sewerage system; and <br /> <br />said Board of Directors appropriated $40,000.00 in their <br />1966-67 budget for the purpose of financing a compre- <br />hensive sewer study to consider the feasibility and <br />desirability of a valley-wide and centralized sewerage <br />system; and <br /> <br />said Board of Directors at their meeting of February 1, <br />1967, deleted the appropriation of $40,000.00 for the <br />comprehensive sewer study from their budget; and <br /> <br />it was hoped that said action would have been taken only <br />after consultation with the interested valley agencies; <br />and <br /> <br />said action is contrary to the intentions and desires of <br />the Alameda County Board of Supervis~rs, the favorable <br />sanction of the Regional Water ~uality Control Board, <br />the City Councils of both Livermore and Pleasanton, the <br />Valley Community Services DistriCt, and other valley <br />agencies; and <br /> <br />said action is not in the best interests of the residents <br />and taxpayers of the valley which are a part of the <br />Zone No. 7 constituency. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> <br /> t. The cities of Livermore and Pleasanton urge the Board of <br />Directors of Zone No. 7, Alameda County Flood Control and Water <br />Conservation District to reconsider its action deleting funds to <br />finance said sewer study. <br /> <br /> 2. The City staff be and is hereby directed to transmit <br />copies of this resolution to the Alameda County Board of Super- <br />v%aors, the Reg~Q~l Water Quality Control Board, the Board of <br />~rectors of t~eValley COmm~nity Services District, and all other <br />interested persons and agencies. <br /> <br />DATED: March 6, 1967. <br /> <br /> <br />
