ClT OF <br /> OF <br />SrA OF CA ORNiA: <br /> <br />RESOLfffION NO. 67-122 <br /> <br />A~RIZXN~ FILING OF APPLICATION <br />FOR 6T~/Tf TO ACQUIRE AND DEVELOP <br /> OPEN-SPACE LAND <br /> <br /> ~EREAS, Title VIX of the Housing Act of 1961, as amended, <br />~r~vides for the making of grants by the Secretary of HouSing and <br />]rban Development to States and local bodies to assist them in the <br /> <br />acquisition and development of permanent interests in landfor <br />~pen-space uses ~here such assistance is needed for carrying out <br />[~ ~nified or offici~lly coordinated program for the provision and <br />d~elopment ?f open s~ace land as part of the comprehensively <br />)l&nned development of the urban area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton (herein sometflnes referred <br /> o as "Applicant") desires to acquire and develop in Fee Simple <br />Title, certain lands herein described as: (1) A co~.unity wide park <br />consisting of approximately 23.5 acres, generally known as the Orlot <br />Park, and located at the Northwest quadrant of the intersection of <br />51ack Avenue and Santa Rita Road and bounded on the south and east <br /> <br /> side respectively by these public thoroughfares; and (2) a community <br /> · ide park consisting of approximately 14.5 acres generally known <br /> as Highland Oaks Park, and bounded by Muirwood Drive and Interstate <br />Itihway 680 and having as its major accesses Muirwood Drive and <br />iihland Oaks Drive; said land is to be held for permanent open- <br />pace and for a wide variety of recreation progra~ns to serve-all <br />ge groups; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the <br />re~ulations of the Department of Housing and Urban Development _ <br />[effectuating that Title, provide that no person shall be discrim <br />]inated against because of raqe, color, or national origin in the <br />~sa of the land acquired and/or developed; and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, it is recoBnized that the contract for Federal grant <br />will impose certain obligations and responsibilities upon the <br />~pplicant and will require among other things (1) assurances that <br /> a~ilies and individuals displaced as a result of the open-space <br />land project are offered decent, safe, and sanitary housing, (2) <br />compliance with Federal labor standards, and (3) compliance with <br />Federal requirements relating to equal employment opportunity; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it ia estimated that the cost of acquiring said in- <br />terest(s) will be $520,000.00; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is est/mated that the cost of first phase develop- <br />ment of said land will be $460,000,00; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed open space is in conformance with the <br />~ppltcant's existing General Plan for serving this rapidly urban- <br />izi~g City; and <br /> <br /> W~EREAS, the Applicant certifies that there is no one living <br />on the parcels at the present time; <br /> <br /> <br />
