CITY OF PL NTON <br />COUNTYOFA MEDA <br />STATE OF LiFORNIA <br /> <br /> 67-134 <br />R£SOLUTION NO, <br /> <br />ADOPTING ~LEASANTON CIVIL DEFENSE <br />OPERATIONSPLAN, jUNE, 1967 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under authority of the California DiSaster Act <br />(Military and Veterans Code), the City of Pleasanton has establishe <br />a Civil Defense and Disaster organization; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 219, Section 8 of the Ordinances of the <br />City of Pleasanton relating to Civil Defense and Disaster provides <br />for the distribution of Civil Defense powers and duties, the <br />assignment of functions and services related to the corm~on defense <br />and protection of the citizens of the co~nuntty during times of <br />disaster either man-made or natural; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, under authority of Ordinance No. 219, Section 8 of <br />the Ordinances of the City of Pleasanton there has been establishe¢ <br />a Civil Defense organization; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Director of the Civil Defense organization has <br />developed necessary plans to provide for the distribution of Civil <br />Defense powers and duties, the assignment of functions and ser- <br />vices related to the common defense and protection of the citizens <br />of the co,m~nity during periOds of disaster, either man-made or <br />natural; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the <br />City of Pleasanton, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. The Plan, <br />Plan, June, 1967, <br />1967. <br /> <br />entitled Pleasanton Civil Defense Operations <br />is hereby adopted and declared effective June 30 <br /> <br /> 2. That a current copy of said Plan shall be kept on file in <br />the City Clerk's office. <br /> <br /> 3. That all Civil Defense and Disaster plans previously <br />adopted by the City Council or by any agency or official of this <br />City pursuant to Ordinance No. 219, Section 8, are hereby res- <br />cinded and declared invalid on and after June 30, 1967. <br /> <br />4. That said Plan will become operative by declaration as <br />provided by Ordinance or automatically in the event of a State of <br />Extreme Emergency as provided in the State of California plans <br />and directives. <br /> <br /> 5. It is the intent of the City Council that the terms and <br />provisions of the Plan, its amendments andadditidns shall carry <br />the full effect of law whenever such Plan is put into force. <br /> <br /> 6. The Director of Civil Defense is to adopt necessary <br />additions, amendments and corrections to the Plan.
