Exhibit C
FTO and /or SRT members. One officer may fill both positions on a watch,
should the officer qualify in both assignments.
3. An officer who is assigned as an active SRT member and /or FTO will not
be required to fill a SRT and /or FTO position on a watch, as long as an
officer with similar standing (as a SRT member and /or FTO) with less
seniority is available to fill the position(s).
4. An officer who is assigned as an active SRT member and /or FTO may not
elect to temporarily discontinue the assignment in order to simply obtain a
more appealing watch and /or days off. Should an officer desire to be
removed from either assignment the officer must submit a memorandum
of the officers' desire to be removed form the special assignment through
the chain-of-command to the Chief of Police.
5. Work schedules (watch and days off) trades will not be considered once
the individual has made his /her selection.
6. When transfers occur from a special assignment, the individual transferred
will assume the schedule, watch and days off, remaining in the calendar
year, of the individual who is being replaced.
7. The Chief of Police reserves the right to change work assignment, times,
and scheduled days off to accommodate for training, transfers,
promotions, injuries, workload, emergencies, termination, and those
employees placed on performance improvement plans. If such a change
is necessary every effort will be made so as to only affect other officers in
order of reverse seniority.
8. In cases when sergeants and officers make their shift selection during
times when they are not scheduled to work they will not be compensated
for that time.
HRIPOA Seniority Shift Sign -Up Program
