CITY OF PLEA.~A'~TON <br />COUNTY OF ALAiti [ ~: ,1 <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION N0.67-157 <br />f"i- <br />{ <br />PROPOSED RESOLUTION RE: VALLEY COMMITTEE TO <br />INVESTIGATE THE SHORT AND LONG-RANGE FEASIBILITY <br />OF A JOINT ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING FACILITY <br />FOR USE BY VALLEY GOVERNMENT AND QUASI- <br />GOVERNMENT AGENCIES <br />WHEREAS, private industry, on a Nation-wide basis, has' made <br />significant and sophisticated use of electronic data processi <br />methods and equipment for research, management and accounting <br />purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, local governmental and quasi-governmental agencies are <br />becoming more aware of the short and long-range public <br />benefits associated with an increasing use of electronic <br />data processing methods and equipment for the same purposes <br />as private industry; and <br />WHEREAS, the economic feasibility and utility of electronic date <br />processing methods and equipment by local government and <br />quasi-government agencies in the Amador-Livermore Valley <br />would be measurably aided by establishment of the principle <br />of joint and cooperative use of such methods and equipment; <br />NOWT THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON hereby endorses and declares its intent to <br />participate with a joint Valley-wide committee for the <br />purpose of exploring the short and long-range benefits <br />associated with the utilization of electronic date processing <br />methods and equipment; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said Committee should contain repre- <br />sentation from all interested Valley government and quasi- <br />government agencies; should initiate necessary studies at <br />the earliest possible time and should provide a written <br />report and recommendations to all participating agencies by <br />January 15, 1968 for a preliminary report and March 15, 1968 <br />for a final report; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Committee representative from <br />the CITY OF PLEASANTON shall be Councilman R.
