"CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />· s'8OLUI'ION IqO, 67-177 <br /> <br />SUPPORTING SENATE BILL 1306, EIGHTY-NINTH <br />CONGRESS, TO PERMIT COMMERCIAL BANKS TO <br />DEAL IN MUNICIPAL REVENUE BONDS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, congressional committees are considering H.R. 5845 <br />~nd N.R. 75~9 concern~[ng commercial banks and municipal revenue <br />bonds; and :~ ~ <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Senate is considering Senate Bill 1306 on the <br />same subject; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, adoption of any of the above bills would allow a <br />saving in financing costs to local public agencies by reducing <br />interest rates; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council of the City of Pleasanton urges Congress <br />to adopt Senate Bill 1306, or similar legislation, to permit <br />commercial banks to underwrite and deal in~nicipal revenue bonds. <br /> <br /> 2.
