C;';;Y OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RE:BOLUTIDN NO, 67-182, <br /> <br />RECOMMENDING TO STATE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS <br />THAT INTERSECTION OF HOPYARD ROAD AND <br />INTERSTATE ROUTE 580 BE CLOSED <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the~'~a~geroUs condition of the intersection of <br />Interstate Route 580 and Hopyard Road) northbound from the City <br />of Pleasanton, has caused~death, injury and property damage; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Division of Highways, Department of Public <br />Works, State of CalifOrnia, has budgeted money to construct an <br />overpass at said intersection during 1968 and 1969; · <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS F0tLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does hereby <br />recommend to the Division of Highways that the median strip in <br />Interstate Route 580 be closed, to prevent traffic from crossing <br />Interstate Route 580 connecting Old Dublin Boulevard and Hopyard <br />Road. <br /> <br /> 2. That this recommendation is an interim solution, pending <br />completion of the overpass, funds for which are now budgeted by <br />the Division of Highways. <br /> <br /> 3. The City Council makes this recommendation, having in <br />mind the relatively small inconvenience in requiring motorists <br />to use existing overpasses, and the great cost of life, limb and <br />property. <br /> <br /> 4.
