Ci IY OF PLEAS^NTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO, 68-1 <br /> <br />URGING .BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY TO USE LAND <br />CONSERVATION ACT OF 1965 <br /> <br /> WHEP. EAS, the Legislature of the State of California has <br />passed the "Land Conservation Act of 19657, as set forth in <br />t51201 et seq. of the Government Code, to create agricultural <br />preserves within the State; and <br /> <br /> WNEREAS, several large owners of agricultural land in the <br /> Amador-Livermore-San Ramon Valleys have expressed interest in <br /> entering contractm to con=inue agricultural use of said land, <br /> as authorized by said legislation; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the entire eastern portion of Alameda County would <br />benefit by using this tool to preserve and create open space <br />adjacent to cities; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council does generally favor use of the Land <br />Conservation Act of 1965 as a tool to plan and zone for open <br />spaces near cities in the eastern Alameda County area. <br /> <br /> 2. The City Council does urge the Board of Supervisors <br />to pass necessary County ordinances to make the State legislation <br />available to agricultural landowners in the Pleasanton area. <br /> <br /> 3.
