ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 68-1 ~ IT ~ESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton as llows: W~RE~, ~ResolutiOn No. 68-45, a public hearing was called for Mon4ay, A~ 8, 1968, at the h~ur of 8:00 P.M., in the Multipurpose ~o~, Valley View School, 480 Ad~ms Court, Pleasanton, California, to ascertain whether the public necessity~ health, safety or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar or associated service on the east and west sides of Main Street, 'from. the north property line of Rose Avenue-Neal Street to the north property line of Spring Street and the extension thereof westerly across Main Street; and WHEREAS, notice of such hearing has been given to all affected property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned in the manner and ~or the time required by law; and WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard; NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton ~ereby finds and determines that the public necessity, health, safety and welfare require the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated structures, and the underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or similar or associated service on the east and west sides of Main Street, from the north property line of Rose Avenue-Neal Street to the north property line of Spring Street and the extension thereof westerly across Main Street, and such described area is hereby established as Underground Utility District No. 68-1. RESOLVEDm FURTHER, that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton hereby makes the following further findings with regard to Underground Utility District No. 68-1: The undergro~nding to be accomplished pursuant to this resolution will avoid or eliminate an unusually heavy concentration of overhead distribution facilities. 2. The streets, roads and'rights-of-way in the District are extensively used by the general pubiic and carry a heavy volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. 3. The said streets, roads and rights-of-way adjoin or pass through a civic area.
