CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> 68-56 <br /> RI:'SOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY <br /> DISTRICT NO. 68-1 <br /> <br />~ IT ~ESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton as <br />llows: <br /> <br /> W~RE~, ~ResolutiOn No. 68-45, a public hearing was called <br />for Mon4ay, A~ 8, 1968, at the h~ur of 8:00 P.M., in the <br />Multipurpose ~o~, Valley View School, 480 Ad~ms Court, Pleasanton, <br />California, to ascertain whether the public necessity~ health, <br />safety or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires <br />and associated overhead structures and the underground installation <br />of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or <br />similar or associated service on the east and west sides of Main <br />Street, 'from. the north property line of Rose Avenue-Neal Street <br />to the north property line of Spring Street and the extension <br />thereof westerly across Main Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notice of such hearing has been given to all affected <br />property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and <br />utilities concerned in the manner and ~or the time required by <br />law; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and <br />all persons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard; <br /> <br /> NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />City of Pleasanton ~ereby finds and determines that the public <br />necessity, health, safety and welfare require the removal of poles, <br />overhead wires and associated structures, and the underground <br />installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, <br />communication, or similar or associated service on the east and <br />west sides of Main Street, from the north property line of Rose <br />Avenue-Neal Street to the north property line of Spring Street <br />and the extension thereof westerly across Main Street, and such <br />described area is hereby established as Underground Utility <br />District No. 68-1. <br /> <br /> RESOLVEDm FURTHER, that the City Council of the City of <br />Pleasanton hereby makes the following further findings with regard <br />to Underground Utility District No. 68-1: <br /> <br />The undergro~nding to be accomplished pursuant to this <br />resolution will avoid or eliminate an unusually heavy <br />concentration of overhead distribution facilities. <br /> <br />2. The streets, roads and'rights-of-way in the District <br /> are extensively used by the general pubiic and carry <br /> a heavy volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. <br /> <br />3. The said streets, roads and rights-of-way adjoin or <br /> pass through a civic area. <br /> <br /> <br />
