HIRST, City Attorney <br /> <br />APPROVING INSTALLATION OF "STOP" SIGN ON PLEASANTON <br /> AVENUE AT BE~NAL AVENUE INTERSECTION <br /> <br />W~EREAS: <br /> <br />There exists at the intersection of Pleasanton and <br />Bernal Avenues in the City of Pleasanton a traffic <br />hazard due to conditions of poor visibility and <br />incompatibility between Pleasanton Avenue, a two lane <br />street, and Bernal Avenue, a city thoroughfare, lead~ <br />to State Highway 680. <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works recommends that certain <br />steps be taken to adequately control the aforesaid <br />hazard. <br /> <br />DATED: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS= <br /> <br />1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authoztw~d <br /> and directed to implement the i,~ediate placement of a <br /> "STOP" sign on Pleasanton Avenue entering the intersec- <br /> tion with Bernal Avenue in accordance with his recOe~aen- <br /> dation. <br /> <br />2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorise~ <br /> and directed to communicate to the Co~tnty of Alameda, <br /> the recon~endation that a controlled speed s0ne be <br /> established where ~d~vl~e~ <br /> ends, and that the 25 nlile per hour sign near the <br /> Western Pacific Railroad Company right-of-way be <br /> to the west side of the subject intersection. <br /> <br /> BE~A~D-T.
