CITY OF PLEASANTON
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA
STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION NO.~8"2~7

DECLARING CUR~T CITY POLICY

'20 ADOP'2 SAME POT.VCy

~EREAS:

~E~EAS:

The City of Pleasanton is previously on record in c~posi-
tion to the petition of McLain De~eio~ment Company to
rezone approximately 86.9 acres of land located at the
northeast quadrant of the Interstate Route 580 - Tassa-
jara Road Inter=hange, from the A-2 to the R-1 and C-N
Districts, which petition is now before the Alameda
County Board of Supervisors~ and

The ~ity of Pleasanton has opposed said petition due to
the fact that said area, and adjacent areas located east
of Tassajara Road and North of Interstate Route 580, are
currently and justifiably located as open space on the
Alameda County General Plan~ and further, the City of
Pleasanton's position is that said area should not
develop in urban land uses at this time, due to its
physically isolated location with regard to the three
Valley community centers, which would in turn result in
disjointed community economic, cultural and social ~evel-
opment; and

It is a fact that if the City of Pleasanton, the Valley
Community Services District, and the City of Liver~ore
unanimously agree that said area should not be developed
to urban la~d uses at this time, and therefore, choose
not to annex said area and not to provide needed utility
