CiTY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6q-~l,1, <br /> <br />~HEREAS: A traffic hazard currently exists at the interchange of <br /> Route 580 and Foothill Road, Pleasanton, California, in <br /> that south bound traffic on Foothill Road attempting to <br /> proceed easterly on Route 580 conflicts with eastbound <br /> traffic on Route 580, attempting to proceed northerly on <br /> San Ramon Road, in Dublin, California; and <br />WHEBEAS: Several vehicula~ traffic accidents have occurred in this <br /> location, the most recent of which resulted in the deaths <br /> a~ father and his infant daughter; and <br />~EREAS: The people of Pleasanton in concept with the neighboring <br /> <br /> cities of Livermore and Dublin have Jointly studied this <br /> traffic problem and determined a need for its immediate <br /> alleviation; and <br /> <br /> ~HERE~AS~ The Livermore-Amador Valley Wide Planning Committee, com- <br /> posed of elected officials of the local governmental <br /> Jurisdictions, have officially recommended that the Valle <br /> Community Services District solicit the assistanOe of the <br /> Division of Highways to investigate this traffic hazard <br /> and correct it as soon as possible; and <br /> <br /> ~EREAS: The Board of Directors of the Valley Community Services <br /> District adopted, at its meeting February 18, 1969, a <br /> resolution recognizing this problem and suggesting that <br /> two acceptable alternative solutions thereto. <br /> <br />WOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Council of the City of Pleasanton formally <br /> petition the State Division of Htg~ays to act as quickly <br /> as possible to eliminate the traffic hazard hereinabove <br /> referred to either through implementation of alternates <br /> No. i or No. 2 as suggested in the resolution adopted by <br /> <br /> <br />
