~HEREAS: <br /> <br />~EREAS: <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />NOW, <br /> <br /> bITY OF PLF-A, NI'ON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STAT£ OF OALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> R'~"~$'OL.I,J'TtON NO- 69-97 <br /> <br /> SUPPORTING ADOFTIO~ OF AB~356, FLA¢INa FIREFIGHTERS <br /> WITHIN THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION B500, ET SEQ OF THE <br /> GOVERNMENT CODE. <br /> £ <br /> It appears that there is some doubt as to whether fire- <br /> <br /> fighters within the State of California are covered by <br /> Section B500, et seq, of the Government Code, commonly <br /> known as the Myers, Milias, Brown Act; and <br /> <br /> It appears desirable and ~ln the public interest that the <br /> firefighters be included as employees within said Act; <br /> and <br /> <br /> AB1356 would, if adopted, resolve this doubt and place <br /> firefighters within the provisions of Section 3500, et <br /> seq, of the Government Code; <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1.
