WHEREAS: <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br /> a more realistic time limit so far <br /> cerned. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. <br /> <br />.¸ <br /> <br /> CITY OF PLEASAN t t I <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RE~OLUTION NO, 69-278 <br />RE: SUPPORT OF LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES POSITION <br /> IN CONNECTION WITH PUBLIC UTILITIES C~MMISSION <br /> CASE ~0~ 8949 <br /> <br />The City of Pleasanton has the railroad tracks of the <br />Southern Pacific Railroad Company and the Western Pacific <br />Railroad Com~ny~Rg through the populated area of <br />its limits and, as a consequence thereof, has experienced <br />problems in connection with both the speed of trains <br />thru the City and the blocking by railroad equipment of <br />at-grade railroad-street crossings; and <br /> <br />The City of Pleasanton has registered an appearance <br />before the Public Utilities Commission in connection wit~ <br />its consideration of 0&se No. 8949, dealing with the <br />blocking of railroad crossings by railroad equipment; and <br />The League of California Cities through its General <br />Counsel and Executive Director Richard Carpenter has <br />likewise registered an appearance and presented to the <br />Public Utilities Commission a proposed general order whi¢ <br />it is felt can be effectively enforced and which proposes <br /> <br /> as the City is con- <br /> <br />That the Public Utilities Commission of the ~tate of <br />California be urged to adopt, in connection with Case <br />No. 8949 the general order proposed by the League of <br />California Cities. <br /> <br />That the appropriate City officers be authorized to <br /> <br /> <br />
