CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 70-23 9 <br /> <br />RE: ESTABLISHING UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT NO. 71-1 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton as <br />follows: <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />By Resolution No. 70-230, a public hearing was called fo~ <br />Monday, December 7, 1970, at the hour 8:00 P.M., in the <br />Pleasanton Justice Court Building, 30 West Angela Street, <br />to ascertain whether the public necessity, health, safet~ <br />or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires <br />and associated overhead structures and the underground <br />installation of wires and facilities for supplying elec- <br />tric, communication, or similar or associated service on <br />the east and West sides of Main Street, between the <br />southerly property line of Rose-Neal Street southerly to <br />the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />Notice of such hearing has been given to all affected <br />property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment <br />roll and utilities concerned in the manner and for the <br />time required by law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />Such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all <br />persons interested have been given an opportunity to be <br />heard; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City <br />Pleasanton hereby finds and determines that the public necessity, <br />health, safety and welfare require the removal of poles, overhead <br />wires and associated structures, and the underground installation <br />of wires and facilities for supplying electric, communication, or <br />similar or associated service on the $&m~a~ywest sides of Main <br />Street, between the southerly property line of Rose Avenue-Neal <br />Street southerly to the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way, and <br />such described area is hereby established as Underground Utility <br />District No. 71-1. <br /> <br />RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Council of the City of Pleasanton <br />hereby makes the following further findings with regard to Under- <br />ground Utility District No. $1-1: <br /> <br />me <br /> <br />The undergrounding to be accomplished pursuant to this <br />resolution will avoid or eliminate an unusually heavy <br />concentration of overhead distribution facilities. <br /> <br />The streets, roads and rights-of-way in the District are <br />extensively used by the general public and carry a heavy <br />volume of pedestrian and vehicular traffic. <br /> <br />The said streets, roads and rights-of-way adjoin or pass <br />through a civic area. <br /> <br />RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the following exceptions in said Undergrour <br />Utility District No. ?l-1 be and are hereby authorized, pursuant <br /> <br /> <br />
