P~OUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />~TAT£ OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />I~'~OLUTION NO, 70-12 <br /> <br />WHEREAS: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF EAST BAY REGIONAL PARKS EFFORTS <br />IN PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTING INTER-CITY <br />BICYCLE TRAIL SYSTEM <br /> <br />The Parks and Recreation Commission has recommended by <br /> <br />Resolution No. R-69-21 that the City Council encourage <br /> <br />the East Bay Regional Park District to implement an <br /> <br />inter-city bicycle trail system in Eastern Alameda <br /> <br />and Contra Costa Counties; and <br /> <br />~WHEREAS: It appears that such a trail would tend to promote the <br /> <br />health and well being of the citizenry and tend to <br /> <br />reduce the creation of smog. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That the East Bay Regional Park District be encouraged <br /> <br />to begin negotiation for acquisition of right-of-way to <br /> <br />be used for an inter-city bicycle pathway in the eastern <br /> <br />portion of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. <br /> <br />2. That the appropriate City officers be directed to trans- <br /> <br />mit a copy of this resolution to the East Bay Regional <br /> <br /> Park District. <br /> <br /> . <br />Dated.
