<br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 71-75 <br /> <br />Re: Rules Supplementing those in Resolution 71-74 relating <br /> <br />to Employer and Employee relations: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />SECTION 1. <br /> <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE <br /> <br />The purpose of these Rules and Regulations is to implement <br /> <br />the provisions of Resolution 71-74 (hereinafter referred to as <br /> <br />the "Resolution"), and also Chapter 10, Division 4, Title 1 of <br />the Government Code of the State of California (Sections 3500 <br /> <br />et seq.). <br /> <br />SECTION 2. <br /> <br />DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />(A) The terms used in these Rules and Regulations, which are <br /> <br />defined in Section 3 of the Resolution, shall have the same <br /> <br />meaning as set forth therein. <br /> <br />(B) DAYS - means "calendar days" unless otherwise stated. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. <br /> <br />RULE 1 - REPRESENTATION PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />(A) FORMAL RECOGNITION !~S THE MAJORITY REPRESENTATIVE IN AN <br /> <br />APPROPRIATE UNIT <br /> <br />(1) An employee organization that seeks formal recognition <br /> <br />as the majority representative in an appropriate unit <br /> <br />shall file a Petition for Recognition with the Municipal <br /> <br />Employee Relations Officer containing all of the infor- <br /> <br />mation set forth in Section 9 (A) of the Resolution, <br /> <br />-18- <br />
