WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />NOW, <br /> <br />DATED: <br /> <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 71-71 <br /> <br /> RE: SMOG CONTROL PLANNING FOR LIVERMORE AMADOR <br /> VALLEY <br /> <br /> the Livermore-Amador Valley is and will be plagued <br /> by smog; and <br /> available evidence indicates a relation between <br /> numbers of people and smog production. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. That the City of Pleasanton petition the City of <br /> Livermore and the County of Alameda to participate with <br /> the City of Pleasanton in designating the Valley <br /> Planning Committee as the agency to proceed to study <br /> and recommend reasonable air quality standards for the <br /> Livermore-Amador Valley at full development, to calculate <br /> a population limit which will insure that these standards <br /> will be maintained and to further recommend to the Cities <br /> and to the County what percentages of that population <br /> should be included within their respective boundaries, <br /> said recommendations, if agreed upon, to be incorporated, <br /> to the extent legally feasible, in the general plans of <br /> the Cities and the County. <br /> That the Valley Planning Committee be additionally <br /> requested to develop ceilings or levels for industrial <br /> and commercial development consistent with the air <br /> quality standards hereinabove developed said levels to bet <br /> likewise included, to the extent legally leasable, as an <br /> element in the general plans of the Cities and of the <br /> County. <br /> April 5, 1971 <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Helen C.
