WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />NOW, <br /> <br />DATED: <br /> <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 71-87 <br /> <br /> RE: APPROVAL OF FIRST STAGE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR VALLEY- <br /> WIDE EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE. <br /> <br /> the City Council is in receipt of a reporg entitled <br /> "Comprehensive Ambulance Service for the Livermore- <br /> <br /> Amador Valley" which said report was prepared by the City <br /> Manager's offices of the Cities of Livermore and Pleasanto~ <br /> and which summarizes in considerable detail the process <br /> <br /> by which informal bids for emergency ambulance service <br /> have been solicited and reviewed by the Cities of Livermo$ <br /> and Pleasanton and the County of Alameda; and <br /> it appears desirable that the three above mentioned public <br /> agencies take steps to enter a Joint Exercise of Powers <br /> Agreement pursuant to which the Valley Memorial Hospital <br /> would be the administering agency for purposes of super- <br /> vising the provision of emergency ambulance service <br /> throughout the Livermore-Amador Valley. <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. That step number one of the recommendations contained <br /> in the report entitled "Comprehensive Ambulance Service <br /> for the Livermore-Amador Valley" beginning at page 2 <br /> thereof and consisting of four stages, is hereby approved <br /> provided however, that the second subsection thereof be <br /> construed as allowing Valley Memorial Hospital to conside~ <br /> <br /> additional ambulance companies other than those listed <br /> including but not limited to ~n~ubsidy'~a~rangements' <br /> <br /> R ~, , May $r' <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />HELEN C.
