COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE O;: CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO, 71-12~-. <br /> <br />ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF JAMES M. FALES, <br /> AS CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />JR. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, James M. Fales, Jr. <br /> <br /> became City Manager of the City of <br /> Pleasanton some eleven years ago prior to the period of <br /> its growth; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during the ensuing years James M. Fales, Jr. has played a <br /> not inconsiderable part in guiding and regulating the <br /> growth of the City; and <br /> during his tenure in Pleasanton, the provision of munici- <br /> pal services has been greatly broadened and one of the <br /> State's leading park and recreation programs initiated <br /> and guided, all of which was accomplished while maintain- <br /> ing a stable tax rate; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, present and preceeding City Councils are indebted to <br /> James M. Fales, Jr. for his untiring efforts to improve <br /> the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, James M. Fales, Jr. has seen fit to submit his resignation <br /> in order to accept the challenge of another city manager- <br /> ship; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City Council of the City of Pleasanton accepts with <br /> regrets the resignation of James M.
