WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 76-127 <br />REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR LANDSCAPING <br />FOR CULTURAL ARTS CENTER TO VALLEY CREST LANDSCAPE, INC. <br /> <br /> the City prepared plans and specifications for the con- <br /> struction of landscaping improvements for the Cultural <br /> Arts Center; and <br /> pursuant to Government Code §37000, et seq., the City <br /> Engineering Services Department advertised for bids re- <br /> garding this project and sealed proposals were received <br /> on May 19, 1976; and <br /> the bid of Valley Crest Landscape of $10,500was the lowest <br /> responsible base bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an alternate to the base bid, the installation of addi- <br /> tional sidewalk on the site, would add an additional <br /> $372.0C to the low base bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering Services has recommended that <br /> due to the fact that the scope of work on the basic im- <br /> provements including the alternate cannot be reduced to <br /> match the funds available without detrimental effect on <br /> the project, the City Council transfer $2,000 to this <br /> project from unexpended funds for Walnut Grove Park and <br /> that the contract be awarded for the base bid and alter- <br /> nate to Valley Crest Landscape, Inc; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has considered and approved the report <br /> <br /> of the Director of Engineering Services; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES <br />RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the contract be awarded for the base bid and <br /> alternate to Valley Crest Landscape, Inc., 1460 Concord <br /> Avenue, Concord, California, in the amount of $10,872.00 <br /> for the construction of landscape improvements for the <br /> <br />front of the Cultural Arts Center, <br />drainage system, irrigation system, <br />ground cover, shrubs and trees. <br /> <br />including grading, <br />gravel walk, turf, <br /> <br /> <br />
