WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 76-127 REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR LANDSCAPING FOR CULTURAL ARTS CENTER TO VALLEY CREST LANDSCAPE, INC. the City prepared plans and specifications for the con- struction of landscaping improvements for the Cultural Arts Center; and pursuant to Government Code §37000, et seq., the City Engineering Services Department advertised for bids re- garding this project and sealed proposals were received on May 19, 1976; and the bid of Valley Crest Landscape of $10,500was the lowest responsible base bid; and WHEREAS, an alternate to the base bid, the installation of addi- tional sidewalk on the site, would add an additional $372.0C to the low base bid; and WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering Services has recommended that due to the fact that the scope of work on the basic im- provements including the alternate cannot be reduced to match the funds available without detrimental effect on the project, the City Council transfer $2,000 to this project from unexpended funds for Walnut Grove Park and that the contract be awarded for the base bid and alter- nate to Valley Crest Landscape, Inc; and WHEREAS, the City Council has considered and approved the report of the Director of Engineering Services; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the contract be awarded for the base bid and alternate to Valley Crest Landscape, Inc., 1460 Concord Avenue, Concord, California, in the amount of $10,872.00 for the construction of landscape improvements for the front of the Cultural Arts Center, drainage system, irrigation system, ground cover, shrubs and trees. including grading, gravel walk, turf,
