CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> C~,UNTY OF A~AMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 72~103 <br /> <br /> RE: SALARY AND FRINGE BENEFITS FOR <br /> DEPARTMF~NT HEAD POSITIONS SUBORDINATE <br /> TO CITY, MANAGER. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has furnished to the City Council <br /> a memorandum dated June 12, 1972 wherein certain <br /> increases in salary and fringe benefits are <br /> proposed for those Department Heads subordinate <br /> to the City Manager not covered by existing <br /> memoranda of understanding; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such increases in salary and fringe benefits <br /> <br /> seem desirable and in the public interest and <br /> necessary in order to preserve the long-observed <br /> distinction between management and nonemanagement <br /> employees. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFOPs., BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS~ <br /> <br /> 1. That the City Manager be authorized to grant <br /> <br /> ,increases in s~lary .compensation for the fiscal year <br /> 1972-73, not to exceed 5.5% or, to the extent <br /> legally feasible, 7%, said increases to be based <br /> upon comparable salaries for similarly situated <br /> positions in other public agencies, individual <br /> performance, responsibility and workload and <br /> consistent with a memorandum from the City Manager <br /> dated June 12, 1972. <br /> <br /> 2. That the salary and fringe benefit increases <br /> above referred to be granted to the extent deemed <br /> desirable by the City Manager in such combination <br /> as deemed necessary to best protect employee <br /> morale and efficiency and consistent with the <br /> Phase II guidelines of the Economic Stabilization <br /> Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
