CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMBDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 73- 96 <br /> <br />ENDORSEMENT OF 1~ REORGANIZATION PLAN <br /> <br />Wm~KK~S, the City Manager has proposed a major reorganization within the <br /> City staff as part of the 1973-74 proposed Budget; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, numerous meetinSs were held where the Budget was reviewed and <br /> the public was afforded the opportunity to speak; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That the proposed reorganization within the City staff as set <br />forth in the City Managervs Budget Memorandum be endorsed, <br />includin~ the implementation of the followinS actions: <br /> <br />Creation of the position of Assistant City Mana~er/Director <br />of Public Works as a combination of the existin~ positions, <br />to work in ~he City Managerws office and under the City <br />Manager's direction; <br /> <br />Creation of two positions of Assistant to the City Manager, <br />which have prim~ilml staff responsibilities and which are <br />reflectiona of the duties and responsibilities of the exist- <br />in~ positions of Finance Officer and Administrative Assistant; <br /> <br />Creation of a new Department of Public Works Field Services <br />which includes the existing divisions of Park Maintenance, <br />Street Maintenance, Water Distribution, Sewer Treatment, <br />Sanitat7 Sewers, and Government Buildings; <br /> <br />de <br /> <br />Creation of the position of Recreation Superinteadent, to <br />be responsible for the new Depart~nent of Recreation, and to <br />authorize the Sradeal phasin~ out of the position of Director <br />of Parks and Recreation; and <br /> <br />That the City Manager be imstructed to report to the City Council <br />on the progress of the reorganization on a quarterly basis· <br /> <br />DATED: <br /> <br />ROBERT s <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Willion H.
