CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF AL~AMEDA <br />STATE 0F CAL'IF0~NIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO=. 73-97 <br /> <br />RE: REVISION OF THE CITY'S PERSONNEL MANUAL <br /> <br />the City Manager has propoSed certain amendments to <br />the Personnei Manual as part of the 1973-74 proposed <br />Budget; and <br /> <br />WHEREA~, <br /> <br />the numerous meetings were held where the Budget <br />was reviewed and the public was afforded the oppor- <br />tunity to speak; <br /> <br />representatives of the City of Pleasanton have met <br />with representatives of thePleasanton City Employees <br />Association and the International A~sociation of <br />Fire Fighters to discuss the proposed personnel <br />changes. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That it is the City Council's intention to implement <br />the proposed changes to the City's Personnel Manual <br />as set forth in the City Manager's Budget Memoran- <br />dum, which includes the following specific actions: <br /> <br />Revision of the Personnel Committee selection <br />procedure to guarantee each employees' group <br />one representative on the Committee; <br /> <br />Inclusion~of those revisions to the Personnel <br />Manual which are resolutions of changes which <br />have been made over the last few years as a <br />result of negotiations of employee groups; <br /> <br />Determination that eligibility for an employso's <br />initial merit increase will await the completion <br />of the twelve (12) month probationary period <br />within the City; <br /> <br />d. Deletion of the fifteen (15) day requirement <br /> regarding the publication of job announcements; <br /> <br />e. Inclusion of the propoSed definition of a <br /> .grievance within the Grievance procedure; <br /> <br />f. A redefining of the Management positions which <br /> are set forth in the Budget Memorandum; and <br /> <br /> <br />
