CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF AL~MBDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 73-98 <br /> <br />RE: ENDORSBMENT OF A PROPOSED PERSONNEL REDUCTION PLAN <br /> <br />Whex~AS, the City Manager has proposed certain personnel reductions for <br /> the 1973-74 Fiscal Year as part of the BudBet; and <br /> <br />WIlEPeAS, numerous meetin2s ware held where the Budget was reviewed and <br /> the public was afforded the opportunity to speak; <br /> <br />NOW, THErEFOrE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That the proposed personnel reduction as set forth in the City <br />Manager*s BudSet Memorandumbe endorsed and implemented under <br />the following procedures: <br /> <br />Employees to be laid off shall receive approximately thirty <br />(30) calendar days written netice, said written notice shall <br />set forth the reasons for the layoff; <br /> <br />The --mes of the employees shall be placed on a re-employment <br />list consistent with the policies set forth in the Personnel <br />Manual; <br /> <br />c. hplo~ees laid off shall receive severance pay equal to two <br /> months salary based upon the date the employee is terminated; <br /> <br />No person employed by the City for leas than one year will <br />receive severance pay since they will not have completed <br />probation; <br /> <br />Employees laid off and subsequently rehired frem the re- <br />employment list shall mot be eligible for additional <br />severance pay in the event that they are laid off again; <br /> <br />fQ <br /> <br />~nployees receivimg the appropriate tMrty (30) day layoff <br />notice but resiSn prior to the effective day of the layoff <br />shall receive the severance pay but w~ll notbe compens&te~ <br />for the rmsining payroll time pemitted under t~ hyof[ <br />p~tice, <br /> <br />DATF~: <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />William H. <br /> <br />Date <br /> <br /> <br />
