CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> COUNTY OF ~MDA <br /> STATE OF CALtFORWIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTI~ NO. 73-142 <br /> <br />MESOLUTION F.IXING TAX RATE FOR THE CITY <br />OF PLEAS~F~ON DURING THE 1973~74. FISCAL 'YEAR. <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton, a general law City, must <br />establish its fiscal year tax rate and notify the <br />County Assessor before September 1 of said fiscal <br />year; and <br /> <br />SB 90 (Chapter 1406, Legislative Stats, 1972) limits <br />the ability of the City Council to raise the tax rate <br />in the City of Pleasanton beyond that established for <br />fiscal year 1972-73 except for certain reasons; and <br /> <br />SB 90 does allow a property tax rate increase if the <br />percentage increase or decrease in population and the <br />percentage increase or decrease in the cost of living <br />index added together exceeds the percentage increase <br />or is less th~_n the decrease in the property tax <br />revenue received by the city; and <br />the City has experienced an increase in population and <br />there has been an increase in the cost of living index <br />which, together, exceed the increase in property tax <br />revenue; and <br />the City Council, in order to affect loss of revenue <br />due to a lower assessed property value than anticipated <br />with the City is desirous of increasing the 1972-73 <br />fiscal year tax rate by three cents ($0~.03); and <br />the C~ty Manager has suggested several alternative <br />methods of allocating the tax burden for fiscal year <br />1973-74. <br /> <br /> <br />
