CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 01-001 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN <br />APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL SURFACE <br />TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM AND CONGESTION <br />MITIGATION AND AIR QUALITY IMPROVEMENT <br />PROGRAM FUNDING FOR RESURFACING WEST LAS <br />POSITAS BOULEVARD FROM HACIENDA DRIVE TO <br />TASSAJARA CREEK AND COMMITTING THE <br />NECESSARY LOCAL MATCH FOR THE PROJECT AND <br />STATING THE ASSURANCE OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT <br /> <br />the Transportation Equity Act forthe 21st Century (TEA21) (Public Law 105-178, <br />June 9, 1998) and the TEA21 Restoration Act (Public Law 105-206, July 22, 1998) <br />continue the Surface Transportation Program (23 U.S.C. §133 and the Congestion <br />Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ) (23 U.S.C. §149); and <br /> <br />pursuant to TEA21, and the regulations promulgated thereunder, eligible project <br />sponsors wishing to receive Surface Transportation Program or Congestion <br />Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program grants for a project shall submit <br />an application first with the appropriate metropolitan tran~qportation planning <br />organization (MPO), for review and inclusion in the MPO's Transportation <br />Improvement Program (TIP); and <br /> <br />the Metropolitan Transportation Commission is the MPO for the San Francisco <br />Bay region; and <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton is an eligible project sponsor for Surface Transportation <br />Program or Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Prograra funds; <br />and <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton wishes to submit a grant application to MTC for funds fi:om <br />the Surface Tran~qportation Program or Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality <br />Improvement Program in fiscal year 2000-2001 for the following project: <br /> <br />Resurfacing West Las Positas - Hacienda Drive to Tassajara Creek <br /> <br /> <br />
